Back from the brink of disaster – twice!
How we saved a Global client’s planning mistake, planned emergency sourcing of a high volume comparator drug from China and exported to Europe.
How we did it.
It should have been so straightforward: A comparator drug to be sourced centrally in Europe, for over-encapsulation to match the investigational product. The challenge with this project arose from the fact that the client had planned all supplies on the assumption that the product came in tablet form.
Having discovered that it was now only available in capsule form, they realised they couldn’t colour-match the capsule shell with their IP, so they asked for Komtur’s help. Our research found that the only place where a tablet presentation was still marketed was China.
So we successfully sourced and exported over 300,000 capsules throughout the three year trial, rescuing the whole clinical trial for the client.
